Health Checks and Your Peplink Router

 What are health checks, why do I need them, and why do I keep failing them?

Peplink routers’ failover technology—the capability to automatically switch (or “fail over”) to another WAN connection or to stop using a failed WAN—is a major part of what makes Peplink an excellent SD-WAN solution. To trigger a failover, Peplink routers use a health check to determine the status of a WAN connection.

The first article in our “Why Peplink” series focused on SD-WAN technology.

Having a VPN, or Virtual Private Network, solution isn’t unique in and of itself. All the big networking hardware players provide it. A private computer network that functions over a public network, a VPN allows employees to securely access company networks no matter where they are.
