Meet Matt Roney, Digital Marketing Specialist at FrontierUS!
Matt joined Frontier Computer Corp. in March 2020.
What does a day in your work life look like?
It varies quite a bit. My major ongoing daily responsibility is maintaining FrontierUS’s presence on our social media channels, and making sure we share content that communicates all the value provided by us and by our partners. That can include a lot—planning out posts, writing and editing articles, updating older content, creating images, pestering encouraging people to fill out the Employee Spotlight Google form, etc.
The rest usually focuses on digital marketing projects, like running email and paid ad campaigns, and on working with our Sales team to create sales collateral and resources. But there are plenty of occasions to step up and work on projects outside my “normal” responsibilities.
What do you love about your job?
The variety really keeps things interesting. Our marketing team is small enough that we each end up wearing a lot of hats. I’m writing this in November 2020, and in the 8 months I’ve worked here I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate on projects with partners, create videos, and become much more familiar with Adobe tools. The team has been really supportive, and my manager, Jen, is constantly encouraging me to try new things (and supporting me when I do).
Beyond that, the FrontierUS crew is just really lovely to work with. Starting here in 2020 has meant spending the vast majority of my first year here working remotely, and I still feel like part of the team.
What do you like to do outside of work?
My wife, Nora, and I like to be outside when we can, and we do a fair amount of hiking in the area. I also play music (mostly guitar, bass guitar, and ukulele), and love seeing live music. Nora and I sing in a local choir, too, when it’s active.
Do you have any pets?
Sadly, no! We certainly plan to eventually, though, and it’s great working for a company that loves dogs as much as I do.
What’s something about you people might not know?
I’m a big fan of Seattle Sounders FC in Major League Soccer, and for a few years when I was living in Seattle I had season tickets in the supporters section (with all the chanting and flag waving and such).
